The Gyuto is Japan’s answer to the western chef knife, in a country where the food culture has given birth to many specific knives for specific purposes, the gyuto was created in the latter part of the 19c after the son of a prominent Japanese blacksmith visited the west to investigate new knife making technologies. Ever since then it has continued to evolve into the hugely popular style we recognise today.
This particular knife is made with a Western (Yo) stye handle and has a vanadium stainless steel blade.
This is a simple stainless knife that will take a good edge and sharpen easily. Nice and comfortable to hold, well suited to use as in a professional kitchen, a good workhorse of a knife.
